The Australian Federal Government must have found a money tree.

This tree, it seems, is delivering an unlimited and prolific crop of money to the federal government that is squandered left right and centre. Will we ever be able to hold our politician accountable? Is this another monetary debacle by the Rudd government?

Following is a comment from Stewart Beattie, Australia. Who is Stewart Beattie? You may ask. He was one of the prime investigators who exposed the truth behind the Port Arthur, Tasmania massacre. He attended several Inverell Forums. What is “The Inverell Forum?” Click on this link. – Werner
* * * * * *
Here is what Stewart Beattie wrote.
The debacle, politicians refer to as our "Health System", and via Professor Jim Bishop the Commonwealth's Chief Medical Officer (CMO) has recently begun promoting the dire threat posed by a 'certain outbreak' of H1N1 erroneously called 'swine flu' this coming winter.

Let's get it clear in our minds: This is a monetary THREAT not a health issue. In Australia, "Rudd the Dud" the hand-out compulsive, last year authorized the CMO to order the "vaccine" which the public rejected to such an extent it has seen an oversupply of 21,000,000 doses on which the use-by-date is about to expire.

How much did that little error cost us? Is that why the PUBLIC are being asked to donate to flood victims in Queensland? These turkeys in Canberra can give away $millions to Indonesia, Haiti, the Pacific islands etc etc, but cannot and will not look after Australians properly.

This same turkey - the "Oh-dear-my-hair-is-mussed" Rudd - even had his bureaucrats do the hard sell on Canada, where tax-payers were duped into paying C$402.5 million for the 200,000 doses they purchased from Australia. Do the sums. That comes to C$201.25 per dose!!!!! This is no less than international fraud.
It was a fizzer here. It failed to materialize even in the USA - where a huge number of victims suffered the dire side effects of the 'jabs' than ever were hospitalised by the side effects of the N1H1 vaccine than all of the cases of flu (including the seasonal variety) combined!
Even if you do swallow this line by what in truth are not medical doctors, but rather mind doctors with a serious imbalance in their accounting, then you owe yourself and your family at least the consideration of what the likes of Dr Sherry Tenpenny has to say rebutting the efficacy of this product courtesy of the globalist labs staffed by men-in-white-coats. The site is below, takes only 5 minutes to read.

The war on terrorism is “hotting “up!

Chilli Grenades to Fight Terrorism.
The world’s hottest chilli will be used by the Indian military to make hand grenades in the effort to fight terrorism, according to Indian defence officials. “The chilli grenade has been found fit for use after trials in Indian defence laboratories, a fact confirmed by scientists at the Defence Research and Development Organization,” said Col. R. Kalia, a defence spokesman in the north-eastern state of Assam. “This is definitely going to be an effective non-toxic weapon because its pungent smell can choke terrorists and force them out of their hideouts,” said R. B. Srivastava, the director of the Life Sciences Department at the New Delhi headquarters of the DRDO. (Click on pictures to enlarge.)

Confirmed by Guinness World Records in 2007 as the world’s hottest chilli, the bhut jolokia (aka ghost chilli, fitting, perhaps) has more than 1,000,000 Scoville units–the measurement unit of a chilli’s spiciness. Tabasco sauce ranges from 2,500 to 5,000 Scoville units; jalapeno peppers measure anywhere from 2,500 to 8,000.

For anyone who has ever inadvertently rubbed their eyes, or elsewhere, after handling a jalapeno–you know what an effective tactic this might produce. Can you imagine? It’s surprising that it isn’t lethal. Seems like an exceedingly painful weapon, but any efforts to move away from producing toxic synthetic-based lachrymatory agents (like mace and tear gas) is somehow a step in the right direction. If only they could find a way to immobilize suspects with kinder options…maybe vanilla bombs and chocolate rockets?

And since we are talking about India you may want to see the following.

From the Ministry Of Silly Walks!
The India-Pakistan Border NIGHTLY Closing Ceremony.

Very interesting protocol, especially given the socio-political-cultural differences. This is probably the only such 'ceremony' of its kind in the world. This is worth your time to watch. Well, we know there is no love lost between the two countries.

Both countries have nukes, and both countries have come close to war a number of times.. The Wagah border is the only road linking India and Pakistan.
(Now see if you can lift your legs that high. - Werner)

And every night, the border is closed with a most unusual ceremony. Only 156 seconds long, it is one of the strangest things ever seen. I'm surprised they ever open the border and I wonder if they would use “hot chilly” hand grenades if provoked.

You’ll get a good chuckle from this; perhaps we could introduce a similar border closing ceremony on the Queensland/NSW border. - Werner

A strong reaction to the Australian “60 Minutes” program.

Sunday night’s Channel Nine’s 60 Minutes program included a well produced segment entitled “Poisoned,” which revealed horrifying results of the use of two chemicals which are regularly sprayed on many of our food crops. If you missed it, you can read the transcript on their website: Story transcripts, This makes a good follow up to my recent posting: The toxins in our midst can make us sick or kill us.

Following are responses sent to 60 Minutes by two very concerned Australians, as well as a letter to the editor of the local daily newspaper. - Werner (Please don't forget to click all the interesting links)

Thank you for exposing the dangers of Endosulfan and Carbendazim. Too often the public is kept ignorant of such information because of the power of the corporations who produce these chemicals.

Coincidently, the company mentioned in your story, DuPont, is one of a number of large companies behind another insidious poison that has been foisted upon a largely unsuspecting public for many years - but this poison's image has been so well whitewashed by very clever spin doctors, and collusion and corruption at the highest levels, that many people, including many health professionals, actually believe it is beneficial.

Sadly, the mainstream media also seems to have been hoodwinked - or gagged - about what scientist Dr Robert Carton has called "the greatest case of scientific fraud ... of all time" - water fluoridation. An excellent expose´ by investigative journalist Christopher Bryson, "The Fluoride Deception" shows how this was achieved.

It is high time a program such as yours produced an honest, unbiased investigation of this topic. Please contact Dr Andrew Harms of Adelaide, former head of the South Australian branch of the Australian Dental Association, or Dr Caree Alexander, Dentist from Port Macquarie, who I am sure would be glad to back up what I have stated. An excellent website where you could begin your investigation is the Fluoride Action Network at www.fluoridealert.org .

Congratulations on your "60 Minutes" TV programme on Sunday 21st March, 2010 "Deadly Chemicals".

The stories about fish with two heads in the Noosa River and the Sunland Fish Hatchery have been around for over a year and the deadly effects of Benlate (Benomyl) were known around 15 years ago. How is it that Australia is so negligent in keeping control of these deadly chemicals and yet other countries are aware and take action. The growers of macadamia nuts (and other crops?) should be notified immediately of the dangers of the chemicals they are using and they should be banned in Australia, as they have been in 62 other countries!

i.e. Endosulphans, Carbendazin, and Benlate (Benomyl).

This is outrageous. Who does any proper research on sprayed chemicals and effects of genetically modified food, when consumed by humans or animals.

I am sending this on to Federal Members for immediate attention.

The truth of this deformity of a baby born with no eyes has been confirmed. I have met a relative of the newborn baby born in Grafton hospital around 2nd February 2010. Naturally the parents would not want to publicise this, but records should be available at the Grafton Hospital.

Letter to the editor. “Babies Born With No Eyes”
Letter 3.
I believe there has been a baby born on the north Coast, New South Wales, Australia with no eye on one side and a small eye on the other.

Many years ago in Coffs Harbour, NSW, which is about 100 KM away, there were babies were being born with deformities. The public were never told what was wrong with the babies.

However, I worked in a plant nursery and when I tried to order the chemical BENLATE, I was told by the representative that it had been taken off the market. When I questioned her further, she said that babies were being born with no eyes and they suspected this chemical. She said she had been instructed not to tell anyone, but she felt it was important that I knew.

Benlate (or Benomyl) has a witholding period of 5 days. It is a systemic fungicide powder which controls powdery mildew, botrytis, brown rot, white mould, azalea petal blight, rose black spot and dollar spot.

This was used in the banana growing areas and used to wash mangoes. Whether it's still used or sold under another name I do not know.

THE UBIQUITOUS SPUD.

We all love potatoes in many different ways, but there is more to this humble vegetable than just being a gastronomic delight – read on to find out. – Werner (Click on picture to enlarge)

Potato (Spud)
Native to South America, the potato was transported to Europe in the mid-1500s by Spanish sailors. Not until the 1800s however, did this food become a staple in Europe, and it gained popularity in many other cultures as well, because of its nutritional benefits. As a member of the nightshade family, which also includes eggplants, tomatoes and potatoes, contain very small quantities of atropine. This substance is deadly in large amounts, but in small doses it has antispasmodic effects, making potatoes useful for easing gastrointestinal pain and cramping. Potatoes can also be applied externally for muscle pain and skin problems. The more than 100 potato varieties come in many sizes, shapes and colours (yellow, white and blue, for example). Yet despite their physical difference, all varieties of potatoes offer similar health benefits.

Storage and use.

New potatoes, with their thin skins, can be stored for up to a week. Mature potatoes, which have thick skins, last 2 months in a cool, dry place. Before cooking, pare away any sprouts or green spots; these are signs of the development of solanine, which is toxic if ingested in large amounts. Discard potatoes that are excessively soft or sprouted. Cook all types of potatoes in their skins to preserve nutrients.

Therapeutic effect.

The alkaline juice of the potato neutralizes stomach acid and relieves upset stomach, heartburn and even peptic ulcers. Warm potatoes applied externally help alleviate joint and muscle pain and improve circulation. Raw potatoes reduce itching and skins inflammation.

Components.

Potatoes are very nutritious, supplying complex carbohydrates, fibre and protein; vitamins A, B-complex and C; and copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, niacin and potassium. When it is possible, eat the nutrient-rich skin. If you do not like it, peel the skin thinly, because many nutrients are concentrated just beneath it.

To promote healthy intestines.
Drinking potatoes water can help cleanse your intestines and reduce the amount of acid in the gastrointestinal system. To prepare it, wash and dice a large potato. Steep it overnight in 1 cup of water to which you've added a pinch of sea salt, strain and drink the water every morning on an empty stomach. Repeat for several weeks.

To eliminate toxins from the body.

A two-day diet of nothing but potatoes is sometimes recommended to flush excess fluid, and the toxins and waste products that fluid may contain, from the body and help purify the blood. Simultaneously, the alkaline substances in the potato bind to uric-acid deposits and remove them from the body, thus relieving gout and arthritis. Eat one large, plain baked potato with the skin five times a day for two days. Drink plenty of water.

To improve liver function.

A tea made from potato skin can relieve gall bladder problems, thereby enhancing the liver's ability to clear waste products and toxins from the body. To prepare, peel a large potato and boil the skin in 1 cup of water for 5 minutes. Strain and drink the brew. Used to treat gastrointestinal complaints, arthritis, wounds, skin inflammations, tense muscle and general pain especially in the joints, back and abdomen.

Method of administration

A potato wrap for pain relief. The potato wrap has long history as a folk remedy for all types of muscle and bone pain. Potatoes retain heat for long periods of time, allowing the warmth to penetrate deep into the tissues. To make the wrap, boil 1 lb. of potatoes in their skins until tender. Place them in a linen sack and mash them. Apply the sack to the affected area, placing a towel underneath tightly to your body with a woollen blanket. Remove the only after it has cooled down completely.

Raw potatoes for inflammation

The cooling effect of raw potato slices brings fast relief from swelling (and itching) caused by contact dermatitis and insect bites. The slices are also effective for bruises as well as sties that occur on the eyelids. Peel and slice a potato and apply a slice to the affected skin until the potato warms up. Repeat as necessary.

Potato juice for heartburn

Potato juice helps reduce stomach acid and heal gastrointestinal inflammation because it contains compounds that coat the lining of the stomach. Use a juicer to extract the juice from 1-2 large potatoes (with the skins). Take 3-4 tbsp. of juice half an hour before meals. If you do not like the taste of potato juice when taken straight, mix it with another vegetable juice (such as carrot or beet) or add it to soup.

And now the bad news.
Potatoes are supposed to be one of the world's greatest foods, filled with calcium, niacin, iron, vitamin C and plenty of carbohydrates. A diet of milk and potatoes, the textbooks say, will provide all the nutrients the human body needs. But there is trouble lurking beneath the skin. According to a controversial new theory, potatoes, eaten in large quantities by a population increasingly sedentary and overweight, may be a major contributor to America's alarming rates of heart disease and diabetes.

The problem, according to Meir Stampfer, a nutrition professor at the Harvard School of Public Health, is potato starch. When you eat a potato and that starch hits the saliva in your mouth, its tightly bundled molecules immediately get turned into sugars, which make a beeline for the blood. "You ate a potato," says Stampfer, "but your body is getting pure glucose." The flood of blood sugar sets off a chain reaction. Insulin pours out of the pancreas. Triglycerides shoot up. HDL (good) cholesterol takes a dive. "It's a perfect setup for heart disease and diabetes," says Stampfer.

This is not just a potato problem. It's also a problem with white bread, bagels and most white rice. But couch potatoes don't have to give up their spuds altogether, as long as they eat them in moderation. or they could switch to sweet potatoes and yams, which metabolize less rapidly and wreak less havoc with blood sugar. ONE POTATO, TWO POTATO: They're nutritious, but too many may be too much.
* * * * * * * *
And, a humorous look at the humble spud.

People are like potatoes.
Some people never seem motivated to participate, but are content to watch others do things. - They are called: "Speck Tators."

Some people never do anything to help, but are gifted at finding fault with the way others do things. They're called: "Comment Tators."

Some are always looking to cause problems and really get under your skin. They are called: "Aggie Tators."

There are those who are always saying they will, but somehow, they never get around to doing. We call them: "Hezzie Tators."

Some people put on a front and act like someone else. They're called "Emma Tators."

Then, there are those who walk what they talk. They're always prepared to stop what they're doing to lend a hand to others and bring real sunshine into the lives of others. You can call them: "Sweet Tators."

The fluoride truth, conveniently & steadfastly ignored by the Queensland government.

Please note! I have just added a link at the bottom of this blog entry. It is very informative as well as frightening to some extent, please go there .– Werner
* * * * * *
Bill Kilvert is an ardent opponent of water fluoridation; he is a life member of the ALP (Australian Labor Party) a former trade Union official, the chairman of the Cairns Anti Fluoride group and the North Queensland Co-coordinator of the FAR NORTH QUEENSLAND BRANCH of QUEENSLANDERS FOR SAFE WATER AIR & FOOD INC. Click on pictures to enlarge!

The mandatory water fluoridation of our drinking water in Queensland is a constantly simmering topic. Bill is continuously running into a brick wall with the Queensland Labor government – his pleadings against this toxic additive are ignored. This is not a very rewarding treatment of a long-time loyal party member!

We are about two years away from a state election and we should ask the LNP, (Liberal National Party) the Greens and independent candidates what they would do in regards to mandatory fluoridation if/when elected to the Queensland parliament. We must never cease fighting against this until new people in the Queensland government come to their senses and stop poisoning our drinking water. Bill sent the following message to his network of supporters. - Werner

I have attached a list of great videos on water fluoridation from the Fluoride Action Network. The can also be found at:

www.fluoridealert.org/videos1.html ). These are a fantastic tool to use with your networks as they do not take up too much time and just about all of the presenters are professionals and have a good strong message.

One of these is a presentation from the "Today Tonight" program from South Australia and it features Dentist Andrew Harms, who was a former President of the Australian Dental Association, and now is opposed to water fluoridation.

The Health Departments and Members of Parliaments, cannot understand why the people still oppose fluoridation after 50 years and countless millions of dollars of propaganda barrelled at them. The answer is simple........TRUTH & FACTS.

These videos will spread the message. Please join us and spread the message to your contacts and your local MPs.

A fruit and veggie wash, made from common home ingredients.

This article is supplementary to my previous posting. It shows us how to make cheap natural fruit and veggie washes, to remove the residue on the outside of our fruit and vegetables. You can buy fruit and veggie washes in shops, but in the article below you’ll find much cheaper alternatives. - Werner

How to Remove Pesticides from Produce with Inexpensive Home Ingredients, by Heidi Fagley.

We all know about them - pesticides and waxes that cover our produce. Although there are many fruit and vegetable washes available in supermarkets, it's simple to make your own homemade blend that will work just as well and at a fraction of the cost. So why, then, would you pay all this money for something you can make at home? You've come to the right place ... save your pennies because the buck stops here - and now!

Consider these facts:
Bacteria
and fungus occur naturally on most crops.
Even if there is no visible soil clinging to your non-organic or organic produce, bacteria can be present.

Imagine
how many hands touch the food before it gets to
your mouth, plus bacteria from soil and dirt can accumulate during the shipping process: these can cause a buildup on the surface of any produce.

Agriculture pesticides are not removable with water alone.

Even if you plan to peel or scrape the produce, it is best - and recommended - to clean it first. Let's say you have a beautiful ripe melon and you slice through it without washing the outside ... the knife can carry potentially harmful pathogens from the rind through the center, and that beautiful melon can turn into a perfect breeding ground for greater bacteria growth.

Some people wash produce with dish detergent. Although this removes much of the pesticide, that which is left - plus any soap residue - could still be detrimental to your system and, in fact, has been known to cause gastrointestinal upset. Be cautious when using anything on any food product that is not meant to be consumed.

Some delicate produce items, such as berries and apricots, should not be soaked in water but can be sprayed with one of the homemade cleansing blends below and then placed in a colander, using a gentle flow of water to rinse the fragile skins. To avoid rapid spoilage of produce, wait to wash and rinse just prior to use.

Convenience has become a way of life at the grocery store. Pre-packaged items that market ready-to-eat produce are a shopper's dream, yet it's still a good idea to wash before consuming. This will only take a few minutes, and you'll be certain your food has been thoroughly cleaned.

Everyone likes to save money, and since there's no need to buy expensive produce wash when you can just as easily mix your own with common ingredients known to most cupboards, jump on board! This ensures better flavor, reduces risks of consuming contaminants, and saves money in the process - a plus on all counts. The combination of long-term health benefits and putting pennies in pockets will be doubly rewarding.

Produce Wash 1. 20 drops grapefruit seed extract, available at health food stores. 1 Tablespoon baking soda - 1 cup white vinegar - 1 cup water - New spray bottle.

Produce Wash 2
. - 1 Tablespoon lemon juice - 1 Tablespoon white vinegar - 1 cup water - New spray bottle Spray produce. Let sit 5-10 minutes and rinse thoroughly to wash away residue.

NOTE:
The baking soda and vinegar will foam when mixed together. Make sure you use a deep pitcher and pour slowly.

The toxins in our midst can make us sick or kill us.

The air we breathe, the water we drink and the food we eat ain’t what it used to be. They are brimming with toxic chemical substances like pesticides and additives to lengthen their use by date etc. Processed meat, sausages and cheese are crammed with them plus a large amount of salt added for good measure. The labelling is totally inadequate and often gives only the additive’s number. Most people wouldn’t know what they are consuming and most wouldn’t bother to find out.

Our hospital wards are full to the hilt; so are Doctor’s waiting rooms, and chemist shops are brimming with sick people picking up more chemicals that the doctor prescribed. No wonder so many people are sick, both young and old. They are saturated with chemicals and toxins, and the body just can’t cope with it. In her “infinite wisdom” and against common sense, our premier Anna Bligh, saw fit to force the population to drink fluoridated water, a number six poison and a waste product from the fertiliser and aluminium industries. We needed this on top of all the other chemicals and toxins like a hole in the head.

We are encouraged to eat organically grown vegetables, but they are not always available and how do we know for sure that they are grown organically? The Supermarkets just have to take the grower’s word for it. Some time ago my wife asked me to bring a head of cabbage from the supermarket. I spotted a shelf that had “organically grown” written on it. The cabbage was full of worm holes, a sure sign that they were grown organically, I was told. I picked one up and put it into the trolley - then I thought, hang on a minute, how did they kill the worms? Needles to say I didn’t buy the organically grown cabbage.

Cabbage is one of those vegetables which is loved by the cabbage moth, which lays hundreds of eggs on the cabbage and after they have hatched the hungry larvae would devour the plant in no time and pesticide would have to be used to stop them.

However, a friend and keen veggie grower in Maclean Northern NSW has a simple way to grow cabbage without using pesticide. He constructs a wooden frame around the cabbage patch puts fishing netting with 10 mm square holes around it – and the cabbage moth cannot get through to the cabbage and consequently he has cabbage without worm holes. Simple, you have to try it.

Another friend who had a small crop farm near Adelaide told me the following story. “My strawberries were just a week away from picking, when I noticed one morning that the leaves looked limp. I went to the DPI and told them what happened to my strawberries. The man knew what the problem was and handed me bottle containing a potent pesticide and instructed me to wear overalls, rubber boots, gloves, goggles and a mask.” ‘Don’t get any of this stuff on you,’ he said emphatically. So, I sprayed the strawberries and they “looked healthy” again the next morning.”

He continued: “My neighbour discovered that his strawberries had the same problem and asked me what I had done and I told him, and off he went to the DPI to get the poison. However, this fellow thought he was a tough Aussie bloke who didn’t need any safety gear to spray his crop. With shorts, singlet and a knapsack he walked along his strawberry row barefoot and sprayed them, but he only sprayed one row when he collapsed and was taken by ambulance to the hospital. He was in intensive care for several days, but lived to tell his tale of nearly leaving this planet. This just shows how toxic this poison was.”

A week later, my friend picked his strawberry crop and took them to the Adelaide market. After that his conscience started to bother him. After all, the strawberries had only been sprayed a week ago with this poison that nearly killed his neighbour. To make a long story short, he felt so terrible about this that he stopped growing strawberries and sold his farm. “I could not live with this,” he said. Well, not everybody is as conscientious as my friend, and of course we will never know when the fruit was sprayed before it gets to the market. I have been told that the normal withholding period between spraying and consumption is four weeks. However, as far as I am concerned it put me off buying strawberries for life. I only eat them when I grow them myself. – Werner

Following are more frightening revelations about what they put into our food; just reading about it can make you sick.

Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein (HVP) recall leaves food consumers wondering: What is this stuff?

Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein (HVP) is one of most common soy-based food "fillers" used to make literally thousands of processed food products. It's found in veggie burgers, gravy mixes, soups and many other grocery products. Last Thursday, one of the largest producers of HVP in the United States, Las Vegas-based Basic Food Flavors Inc., was the subject of an FDA consumer safety warning announcement. Salmonella had been found contaminating the company's HVP production equipment, the FDA said, and a nationwide recall was initiated that now includes products from Trader Joe's, Safeway, McCormick and many other companies. The Aussie barbecue, operated by men!

Please Note! The blogger is not necessarily in agreement with the view expressed below. - Werner

Barbecuing, the Australian way.

It's the only type of cooking a "real" man will do. When a man
volunteers to do such cooking, the following chain of events is put into motion.

1.
The woman goes to the store.

2. The woman fixes the salad, vegetables, and dessert.

3 The woman prepares the meat for cooking, places it on a tray
along with the necessary cooking utensils, and takes it to the man, who is lounging beside the grill, drinking a beer.

4. The man places the meat on the grill.

5. The woman goes inside to set the table and check the vegetables.

6. The woman comes out to tell the man that the meat is burning.

7. The man takes the meat off the grill and hands it to the woman.

8. The woman prepares the plates and brings them to the table.

9. After eating, the woman clears the table and does the dishes.

10. The man asks the woman how she enjoyed "her night off."

Big Brother is Watching You!

By reading this article from the "Weekend Australian" magazine – February 2010, may persuade you to take the bus.I wish they could detect real crime as easy as traffic infringements. Click on pictures to enlarge. – Werner

Would you like to run your car on water? If so click here.

TECHNOLOGY WATCH - Speed cameras get smart.

AS FORMER FEDERAL COURT Judge Marcus Einfeld would confirm, there’s no escaping demerit points these days. Lacking a dead American academic to shoulder the blame, more than 100 drivers a day in NSW lose their licences; in Victoria, another 60,000 share their fate each year. These numbers have ballooned in recent years thanks to the cane toad-like spread of the speed camera.

In Poland they hide the cameras in fake garbage bins, a tactic previously employed in New Zealand and Western Australia. In the Netherlands they have a $100,000 machine that is virtually indestructible; if attacked by angry motorists it reports the assault to a local police station. In the UK, a shadowy balaclava-clad group known as Motorists Against Detection has disabled thousands of the hated devices, condemning them as “Greed cameras”, designed only to raise revenue for lazy councils.

But the machines like to stay one step ahead. Automated Number Plate Recognition systems (such as the Safe-T-Cam tracking trucks on NSW highways) register your licence plate on one camera, then measure how long it takes you to get to the next one. Arrive sooner than the speed limit would allow and you’re pinged. Average-speed cameras now operate in Scotland and may soon be used to punish speedsters on all the UK’s motorways. But that’s not all they can do: in Victoria the ANPR camera checks each plate against a database that alerts police instantly if a vehicle is unregistered, or its driver is unlicensed or subject to outstanding arrest warrants - and tells them where it is.

Terrifying? Orwellian? You ain’t seen nothing yet. The next generation of tracking, Electronic Vehicle Identification, will bring a glow to the icy hearts of bureaucrats maddened by the suspicion that someone, somewhere, is in breach of a traffic regulation. A tiny radio transmitter in every car and high precision sensors all along the road network could mean never getting away with anything ever again.

Enthusiasts in the UK say that, apart from monitoring your location and speed at all times, EVI could catch you straying into a bus lane, performing an illegal U-turn, running a red light, driving too close to the car in front or outstaying your welcome in a parking space. The first you’d know about it would be when the computer popped an infringement notice in your letterbox.

Of course, as your spouse will undoubtedly point out,
if you don’t do anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about. See you at the bus stop.

Once upon a time, to be precise, before the 2007 federal election, Kevin Rudd, Federal Labor Member for Griffith in Queensland challenged the then Leader of the Opposition, Kim Beazley, for his job and succeeded in knocking him off his perch.

The new Leader of the Opposition soon bec
ame known as Kevin 07. And a Ute full of Kevin 07 posters soon “adorned” the street corners in his electorate. He began his election speeches with: “I am Kevin, I am from Queensland and I’m here to help.” This magic sentence was like music to the ears of his followers and the enchanted, and he was elected as the Prime Minister of Australia, and the ones that elected him were euphoric – the others were not.

Our Kevin from Queensland started immediately, as promised, to help and stimulate the economy. He and his treasurer Wayne Swan
”helped” to clean out the nest egg of $42 billion dollars, accumulated by the previous g
overnment. They handed out $900.00 to every Tom, Dick, Harry and Mary and all felt very ”stimulated” - and in turn the recipients further stimulated the airlines who took them to far away countries and there they then stimulated the other countries; they spent their holiday and the rest of their Australian dollars. The moral of this is, most of the stimulus benefited foreign countries - instead of Australian families and businesses.

Despite the empty coffers and in reality being “broke,Kevin 07 was not deterred from spending. A private company reaching that stage would have been declared insolvent and stopped from trading, but Rudd & Co could carry on. The government started to borrow heavily to save Australia from recession and unemployment. - My artist’s impression how he sees Rudd running Australia. Click on picture to enlarge

The first two years he travelled extensively and racked up milli
ons of dollars in travel and hotel expenses and was more out of this country than in it, but nothing has manifested itself so far of what he achieved with his expensive globetrotting. To stimulate Qantas and the Danish economy, he went to the Copenhagen ETS conference and took 114 delegates with him, exceeding other countries in numbers. It was a foregone conclusion that this conference was doomed from the start – and so it was. It could be plainly called . . . money easily available for political junkets.

It was decided to insulate the ceilings of Australian homes to save us from the “impending” global warming or climate change. He gave the responsibility to Peter Garret, the federal member for Kingsford Smith of NSW, who, by the way, before entering parliament, had never done anything else in his life, to my knowledge, other than being the lead Singer in the rock band “Midnight Oil” and protesting constantly about environmental and indigenous issues.

The Prime Minister told him to go with full speed ahead.
To do some planning before implementing this scheme did not enter their collective minds; to get it done regardless was paramount. This attracted a lot of unprofessional and untrained installers, and the warnings from many reputable expert sources that this would have dire consequences were ignored. Consequently the scheme was not carried out to acceptable standards of what is right or proper.

To cut a long story short, after four inexperienced and untraine
d insulation installers were electrocuted and about 100 insulated homes caught fire, followed by outcries of those affected; a halt was called to this scheme leaving thousands of people jobless and both reputable and non-reputable insulation installing companies in dire financial strife.

In the meantime, Tony Abbott, our new opposition leader,
demanded that Peter Garret be sacked. But the Prime Minister wouldn’t have a bar of that, declaring: “He is an excellent minister.” Our "beloved" Kevin 07 got a grilling from the media and the pressure mounted on him, till he eventually declared: “The Buck stops with me, it was my fault. We just were not competent and deserve a whacking in the polls.” This is of course a clever political ploy perfected by Peter Beattie, the former Premier of Queensland and now adopted by Kevin Rudd. It is aimed at the gullible. They think; the remorse shown by Kevin will turn the dissatisfaction tide away from him. Only time will tell if it worked. - My artist’s impression of Penny Wong, minister for “Climate Change, but so far hasn’t changed the climate, and disgraced Peter Garrett, minister for “Geckos and Gallery Openings,” as Tony Abbot called him, hard at work.

But since he didn’t want to sack himself he needed a “Fall Guy”
and that guy was Peter Garret, who only two days earlier had been an ”excellent Minister”. However, instead of sacking the allegedly incompetent Peter Garret, he demoted him, to a minor, unimportant portfolio; but interestingly, he remains in the inner Cabinet and still draws his high salary. Needless to say, Peter Garret would have been deeply disappointed, and thinking; “If I have friends like this, I don’t need enemies.” However, when he recovers from his low, he will say, “Not too bad! I still have the same salary and very little to do with a greatly diminished responsibility.”

After two years in office most of Kevin 07’s election promises have not been carried out. Tony Abbott stated in regard to this tha
t Kevin Rudd is all talk and no action. Well, I’ll let you decide if Tony Abbott is right or wrong.

And finally ... strangely, so far this year Kevin 07 hasn’t left the country. Hello, it just dawned on me; it is an election year!

Following is a song from Midnight Oil 1984. This may well be fitting for the the occasion

When the Generals Talk.

Up there on the platform,
He is speaking to the people
The people are responding
With clapping and a cheering
Bur the meaning of the message
Not revealed to those assembled
They are taken for a ride
Taken in his stride

There’s a rumour in the ranking
Someone talking insurrection
So the general has a purge
‘Caus he wants to win elections
With the certain satisfaction
That the people are appeased
Long live the revolution
The general is very pleased
