The Queensland Leader of the Opposition, Jeff Seeney, and mandatory water fluoridation.

Following is a letter I sent to Jeff Seeney MP, Leader of the LNP opposition, (By mail and e-mail) on the 30. May 2011. However, as I half expected, no acknowledgement or a reply was received and that is the reason I now publish it. It just shows how aloof and arrogant this person is. It seems that he is only in listening mode three weeks prior to an election.

When Premier Bligh announced forced fluoridation on the 5th Dec 2007, she said it would cost $35 million to fluoridate Qld. It is recorded in Hansard on the 12 Feb 2008 that Premier Bligh again confirmed that it would cost $35 million dollars to fluoridate Qld over 4 years.

Now we learn that the actual cost is at least $113 million dollars to date and this does not include SEQ Water or regional councils ongoing operating costs. It would also not include any repairs from flood damage as the govt was only ever going to re-imburse the capital costs of building fluoridation plants under the Fluoridation Assistance program.

The cost blow-out with fluoridation in Queensland, is the Labor Party’s blow-out and this is what Fiona Simpson’s “waste watch site” is supposed to highlight, but she is steadfastly refusing to do it and one has to assume that either the party, or Seeney, Langbroek and Dr. Flegg are muzzling her. - Werner

The Leader of the LNP (Temporarily)
The Hon. Jeff Seeney MP

Dear Jeff,

I feel compelled to write to tell you that I take issue with all of the letters you sent to Colin Bishop, but in particular the one quoted below. Colin is one of your constituents, and as such it is your duty, as his representative in parliament, to listen to what he has to say and not brush him off the way you did.

Let me tell you that I have been involved in politics on the conservative side since 1964 and know a thing or two about it, and one of the things is that you treat your constituents with respect.  After all, they are the ones who put you where you are now.

I will not let you off the hook and your letters will be tabled at our next “Barron River” LNP meeting. Please note that our branch is totally against mandatory water fluoridation.  Michael Trout, our candidate for “Barron River” called in at my place and was thoroughly “enlightened”, by my daughter and myself about the health dangers of this insidious number 6 poison, a waste product of the chemical and fertiliser industry being forced on us without asking us whether we want it or not.

Worst of all, this stuff comes from China and nobody can obtain a data sheet of what else is in this poison put into our water. Michael was a very good listener and was honest enough to tell us that he didn’t know anything about this and he is now a convert. My emphasis is on “honest enough.” Are you honest enough, Jeff, and would you also admit that you don’t know anything about fluoride? I will now respond within the text of excerpts of your letter quoted below in blue.

Letter from Jeff Seeney (In blue) to Colin Bishop, my reply in black.
Dental health and the increasing cost of that on the public purse has been a concern for some time. It is now considered that if the responsibility of public dental treatment falls on the general community then the responsibility also falls on the community to minimise that cost and provide preventative dental care.  This can best be done through the fluoridation of community water supply. * Jeff, it is time you step out of your little claustrophobic square and look at the real world. Ask yourself why most of the European nations have banned water fluoridation because of health reasons. Do you think that they are stupid? It is manifestly clear that you have your blinkers on and know nothing whatsoever.

Tooth decay is not caused because of lack of fluoride, but because of lack of proper dental hygiene, the wrong diet and drinking too much sugary soft drink. Furthermore have you ever seen young people drink water? I’m quite sure that you have never seen what Anglicare Tasmania wrote a while ago. Tasmania has been fluoridated for over fifty years; is 92 % fluoridated and Anglicare says that Tasmania has the worst tooth decay of the whole nation and, the biggest population with dentures. Does this tell you something, Jeff? Or are you as blind as those who don’t want to see and learn?

* There has never been any doubt about where I stand on the fluoride issue or where the LNP stands either. * I have to contradict this; here is what Nicole Tobin Connely, the Vice Chair of the Barron River branch of the LNP wrote to me, I Quote:

Our next meeting is the AGM this Sunday at 9.20am at the Shangri-La, but the following SEC/Branch meeting is scheduled for Monday, June 27 at 7pm at Ivanhoe's, and I will certainly table it there. (That is your letter to Colin Bishop, Jeff!)

I understood from previous conversations with James Martin, party Secretary of the LNP, that it (fluoridisation) had been previously debated at a State Council or Convention that the official party position was that a plebiscite on fluoridation be held to coincide with Council elections, and thus our SEC motion that we sent in for the last State Convention was already policy so it didn't need to go on that agenda, and at that stage I know we were assuming Anna Bligh would go to the polls BEFORE the 2012 Council elections, so I will have another chat with the relevant "powers that be" for you.  (And you know that due to my sister's medical condition, this is an issue very important to me too) Unquote. * What we can draw from Nicole’s letter is: that you as the Leader of the opposition don’t even know what is going on.

* When the Government introduced a Bill about fluoride we in the LNP did what we always do with any other Bill - we researched the issue and looked at the available information before we decided on a response. * This is absolute balderdash.  If you ever looked at anything it must have been research done 20 years ago or earlier, and not the very latest. I made a booklet and a CD about the very latest research and handed it personally to Langbroek at a party meeting, but he proved to be as ignorant as you and I had to write to him asking if he had read the booklet and watched the disc - and all I got was, “You have your opinion and I have mine.” Had Langbroek not been removed, I would have resigned from the LNP.  If we have friends in parliament and the LNP like you and Langbroek, we don’t need enemies.

 * We also considered a considerable amount of correspondence from people for whom we understood this to be an emotional issue. It was impossible to deny the evidence that fluoride in drinking water supplies had contributed to markedly different rates of tooth decay in communities across Australia - both in cases where fluoride occurred naturally in the water supply and where it had been introduced as a public health measure.
* Again, this shows clearly how ignorant and ill-informed you are.  If fluoridation is as successful as it is claimed to be, why is it that there is currently such an epidemic of poor dental health in states that have been fluoridated for many decades?

The fluoride that occurs naturally is calcium fluoride and not the silicofluoride industrial waste we get: courtesy of China.  A cup of Queensland Nerada tea contains 4 mg of calcium fluoride, so would it not be better just to hand out free tea bags, than to lumber every council with huge extra expense for adding poison into our water? This would be considerably cheaper, would it not? Just imagine building workers in our tropical north drinking many litres of iced tea; they would get an exceedingly high fluoride dosage.

Now: Jeff, please answer me the following question honestly, a lot of people will look forward to your answer. Why does the water we shower with, the water we wash the dishes and our clothes with, the water we water our plants with and the water we flush the toilet with have to be fluoridated? It doesn’t make any sense to me and many others; does it make any sense to you Jeff?

What about the many people who have dentures, why are they forced to drink it or spend hundreds of dollars on filters to remove the stuff? Will fluoride also improve. DENTURE HEALTH?

This stuff will end up in our ocean and the Barrier Reef. Give me a break, Jeff.  Surely it would be more economical, more ethical and less damaging to the environment to give free fluoride tablets to those people who want them, and not force the rest of us to consume this carcinogenic, health-destroying toxin.
* * * * * * * * *
* Because I represent a number of smaller communities I was concerned about the cost issue for local Councils with a larger rural rates base but decided on balance that the Government's determination to pay for the installation of the equipment was a fair balance. *The Queensland Labor government spent over 40 million dollars on fluoride infrastructure. What a waste of taxpayers’ money – especially since most of our councils including the Cairns Regional Council were vehemently against fluoridation, as was the former Premier, Peter Beattie. Now I refer you back to what Anglicare said above about how “successful” Tasmania’s water fluoridation was on tooth decay.

* I have continued to receive correspondence such as yours since the legislation has passed, but no one has been able to present any data at all to show that fluoride does not make a difference to public health or any scientific evidence to support the claims. I would suggest that you need to source that data and evidence if you want to have this issue reconsidered by Government. *  No one has presented any data . . .  OMG. There is plenty of the latest data available if you want to look for it.  You could start with Professor Connett’s website: www.fluoridealert.org and I could send you a couple of DVDs if you would be interested in being properly informed. Then there is the recently produced Australian documentary “Firewater: Australia’s Industrial Fluoridation Disgrace.” You should have a look at it if you want to be honestly informed.  But, do you want to be?

Click also on this link: China’s toxic industrial waste is disposed of through Australia’s drinking water.

Professor Paul Connett PhD, an eminent environmental chemist and world expert on fluoridation, recently travelled around Australia giving public addresses about the latest research on fluoridation, but was totally ignored by governments and their fat cat health bureaucrats.

Jeff, you remind me of the four absolutely useless Labor politicians we have in the four electorates around Cairns.  They represent their Labor caucus, and you represent the coalition, when instead you should all be representing your electors - shame on you all. It is manifestly clear to me that the Labor government and the coalition you lead at present have read the operational manual written by the Nazis. “Treat your citizens like mushrooms keep them in the dark and feed them bullshit and, only tell them what we want them to hear.”

The convoy of “no confidence” is heading towards Canberra.

It could also be called the “Convoy of Discontentment.” In all my years in Australia I have never seen such a protest against an incumbent federal government. The Australian people, normally very placid have a gut full of the inept Gillard government, not only were they lied to, but they want to introduce an insidious carbon tax for which they have no mandate. A convoy of all sorts of vehicles are travelling from all directions to our National Capital to tell the Gillard Labor/Green government to call an election.

FROM what most people understand, the Federal Government proposes to collect the carbon tax from the carbon emitters who will pass the cost of the tax on to us, so it really won't cost the emitters anything.

Then the Government will compensate the masses with a tax rebate paid with the money collect from the emitters, so it won't cost us anything either.

So, no one will be out of pocket, there will be no change in the amount of carbon emitted, but at least a whole bunch of otherwise unemployable public servants and party comrades will be employed to supervise the transfer of the money between the accounts.

It's just like moving a dead body to a new coffin, hoping that it will come back to life.

I think I've got it, but you might feel that you need to correct me. But then again save your energy in case someone puts a tax on it.

It remains to be seen if the federal government takes notice of “people power.” Click here and find out who the biggest polluter is on this planet yet pays no carbon tax. And here is the Ray Hadley Convoy Song. - Werner

Senator Barnaby Joyce has this to say.
Regional Australia is coming to Canberra!
I would like to offer my support to those travelling to Canberra for the convoy of no confidence rally next week. I hope everyone takes their time and has a safe trip.

The Australian people everywhere you go are starting to have one retort and it is this – can you please get rid of them.

Whether it’s the secretary at the doctor’s surgery, the taxi driver, the lady behind the till, or the person standing next to you in the queue, they are no longer surprised by just how totally and utterly incompetent the government is.

The convoy of no confidence is the inevitable consequence of a population that is just sick to the back teeth on what is happening to their country.

They are not nasty, they just want them gone. These people are a mere expression of what the majority are feeling. They are regular truck drivers, regular people who are making a political point. They are driving to Canberra to ask the government to do the decent thing and go to an election. It is like when a relationship breaks down and now the Australian people are saying they want out, or more to the point they want the government out.

There are reports today that the Government is planning to gag debate in the Parliament on the carbon tax legislation. After denying the Australian people a vote on the carbon tax, they are planning to deny the Australian Parliament a voice.

But these people can make a difference. People in regional Australia are often frustrated by the lack of a voice they have in Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

I want to remind those living outside these centres that they have changed the direction of their country over the past few years.

In 2009, it was regional Australia that first stood against Kevin Rudd's emissions trading scheme, leading to its eventual defeat on the floor of the Senate. It was regional Australia that last year stood up against a Murray-Darling Basin Plan that was going to destroy the nation's food bowl. And this year it was regional Australia that stood up against plans to end our live cattle trade, notwithstanding the devastation that was caused during the four weeks in which Four Corners ran the country.

All of these changes came about by the force of ordinary regional Australians standing up against the Green, nihilistic and negative vision that wants to shut down economic activity in regional Australia.

It is only half time in this fight on the carbon tax. There is no messiah coming over the hills to save us. The only way to stop this tax is for everyone to do what they can to make it happen.

Whether that is coming to Canberra on Monday, calling your local Labor or Independent members or writing to your local paper, every little effort helps to stop this tax.

The Queensland Labor Government; a spendthrift.

Well, that’s according to LNP’s Shadow Minister Fiona Simpson who runs The LNP Waste Watch website www.stoplaborwaste.com and is keeping an eye on the Queensland Labor Government’s prodigal spending. See below (“Blow the Whistle”) what Fiona has to say.
Please offer your opinion to Fiona on the link above, or on this blog, if you come across anything you think is wasteful spending by the government.
In my way of thinking and many others the biggest waste of money is mandatory water fluoridation imposed on our citizen by the Bligh Labor government. The overwhelming scientific evidence is patently obvious that water fluoridation is utter bunkum and a dismal failure in preventing tooth decay. As some of you would have read in my blog; we dispose China's toxic waste from the fertiliser and aluminium industries through our drinking water.
Tasmania is a typical example of the total futility of water fluoridation. This state has been fluoridated for fifty years; has 50 fluoridation stations, and is 92% fluoridated. However, according to AnglicareTasmania, they have the biggest population with tooth decay of the whole nation and equally, the biggest population with dentures. You wouldn’t have to be an Einstein to figure out how ineffective this number six poison is in our drinking water that we are forced to drink, provided we go to great expense and get a filter to remove it. Common sense just is not very common. - Werner

Far North Queensland Businesses urged to “Blow the Whistle” on Government Waste and Red Tape. Tuesday, 9 August 2011
The State Opposition urged Far North Queensland business owners concerned about the rising costs of doing business to have their say about cutting government waste and red tape today. The LNP Waste Watch Shadow Minister Fiona Simpson and LNP Candidates for Cairns, Barron River, Mulgrave and Cook are inviting business owners to share their concerns.

“Under the watch of Australia’s worst treasurer Andrew Fraser, this lazy, tired 20 year old Labor Government has not only racked up an $85 billion debt with an interest bill of $595,000 an hour, but has also lost Queensland’s AAA credit rating,” Ms Simpson said.

Ms Simpson and the LNP Candidates met with a number of concerned businesses today as Ms Simpson conducts a series of state wide forums to meet with Queenslanders who are hurting from the high cost of living pressures fed by wasteful Government policies.

Ms Simpson said the red tape of the government was making business harder in Queensland.

"Where Queensland used to be the leading State for economic activity and low cost of living, we are now the most highly regulated state in Australia with over 70,000 pages of regulations for businesses.

“Just yesterday, we heard the absurd story of a farmer having to put two illuminated ‘exit’ signs above the doors of a new shed he’d built for 60 pigs. It is sheer stupidity such as this which is choking our small businesses.

“The State Government also wasted $80,000 on a pile of plastic signs pushing the benefits of solar energy to people who’d already installed solar hot water systems.

PS. And Colin Bishop from Mundubbera Qld. says: "How about we put big signs everywhere advising tourists that everything has bloody fluoride in it?"

"Government waste and the rising cost of doing business are adding to the burden in a tough economic climate.

"I am keen to hear your feedback on how you would like to see red tape and government waste cut.

“The LNP Waste Watch website www.stoplaborwaste.com and our forums will give Queenslanders an opportunity to 'blow the whistle' on waste.

"As part of the Campbell Newman team, we are committed to Cut Down on Labor's Waste, so we Can Do more for Queenslanders.

Muslims and Multiculturalism not a happy mix in some countries.

The contentious issue about Muslims is in the spotlight in Canada & Holland. First some excerpts from an excellent article from the Calgary Herald Canada. This is followed by an article from Holland. I'm actually surprised that the “Calgary Herald” had the courage to publish this, but the truth has to be told. Wake up Australia! This is a must read for all Australians; especially our federal Politicians!

It is a well known fact that many European countries have an issue with the Muslim population they once readily welcomed to their country. They all discovered that Muslims do not integrate or assimilate into their respective countries, and produce abundantly more children than the native population of the host country. In time the Muslim population will be in a majority, and they all know what that means and, are extremely worried about it. I’m told that the Muslims are a drain on the host country’s welfare system. Well, they have learnt that hindsight is an edifying tool, but an egg cannot be unscrambled.

Here is what German Chancellor Merkel said: "German attempt at multiculturalism has 'utterly failed;' she wants immigrants to learn German." Read more.

Theodore Roosevelt said: “There can be no fifty-fifty Americanism in this country. There is room here for only 100 % Americanism, only for those who are Americans and nothing else.” (That should apply for every country including Australia.- Werner)

I didn’t get permission to publish the full “Calgary Herald” article, only excerpts and the link to the full article. - Werner

Time to Change Tune on Official Multiculturalism.
By Licia Corbella, page editor, “Calgary Herald” - February 12, 2011
About one dozen families who recently immigrated to Canada are demanding that the Louis Riel School Division in Winnipeg excuse their children from music and co-ed physical education programs for religious reasons. The families believe music is un-Islamic ~ just like the Taliban believe . . . .
The school division is facing the music in a typically Canadian way – that is, bending itself into a trombone to try to accommodate these demands, even though in Manitoba, and indeed the rest of the country, music and phys-ed are compulsory parts of the curriculum.
Mahfooz Kanwar, a member of the Muslim Canadian Congress, says he has a better idea. "I'd tell them, this is Canada, and in Canada, we teach music and physical education in our schools. If you don't like it, leave. If you want to live under sharia law, go back to the hellhole country you came from or go to another hellhole country that lives under sharia law," said Kanwar, who is a professor emeritus of sociology at Mount Royal University in Calgary.
"Immigrants to Canada should adjust to Canada, not the other way around," he argues. To read the full article, click on this link.

Now to Holland; here is what they are doing.
A new integration bill, which Dutch Interior Minister Piet Hein Donner presented to parliament on June 16, reads:"The government shares the social dissatisfaction over the multicultural society model and plans to shift priority to the values of the Dutch people. In the new integration system, the values of the Dutch society play a central role. With this change,  the government steps away from the model of a multicultural society."

The letter continues: "A more obligatory integration is justified because the government also demands that from its own citizens. It is necessary because otherwise the society gradually grows apart and eventually no one feels at home anymore in the Netherlands..."

The new integration policy will place more demands on immigrants. For example, immigrants will be required to learn the Dutch language, and the government will take a tougher approach to immigrants who ignore Dutch values or disobey Dutch law. (Hear, hear! Australian politicians take notice of this.-Werner)

The government will also stop offering special subsidies for Muslim immigrants because, according to Donner, "it is not the government's job to integrate immigrants." The government will introduce new legislation that outlaws forced marriages and will also impose tougher measures against Muslim immigrants who lower their chances of employment by the way they dress. More specifically, the government will impose a ban on face-covering Islamic burqas as of January 1, 2013.

Holland has done that whole liberal thing, and realised - maybe too late - that creating a nation of tribes will kill the nation itself. (Australia's future may well be read here. -Werner)
